LCARW is very involved in the community!

Members regularly volunteer at the county Republican Headquarters and participate actively in campaign activities. Our club provides scholarships for graduating seniors in Montgomery ISD and Willis ISD. An annual March luncheon honors third and fifth grade winners of a "My American Hero" essay contest that we hold in conjunction with Montgomery and Willis schools. Students, teachers, parents and administrators are invited to lunch where students are presented with certificates and goodies provided by the club and local elected officials. We also provide funds and volunteers for senior community activities as well as participate in events honoring public servants and the military. Books are donated to the libraries of our local schools following the annual Literacy Day program in September. Other monthly programs range from lively candidate forums during election years to informative speakers on topics of interest at the local, state and national level. We fund our many outreach projects through an annual fundraising/entertainment event. Visitors are always welcome to attend and we encourage both men and women to join. Please email for more information.

President's Message

It's been a busy summer politically and personally for many and sometimes hard to keep up with all the news (rumors) while trying to enjoy the break! I hope everyone has had a safe and pleasant summer and we greatly appreciate everyone who attended or contributed to the success of the May fundraiser. Please join us for the rest of this year's activities beginning with the general meeting on August 3. This will be an uplifting patriotic program to coincide with the special session called by Governor Abbott. Our planned speaker, Rep. Will Metcalf, was called back to work but he will return to speak at a later date. We will also be presenting scholarships to Willis and Montgomery ISD seniors.

Walden Yacht Club has changed their payment policy and now require checks be written out to LCARW. The lunch price has also changed to $20 and we will accept credit cards for purchases of $20 or more.

September's meeting focuses on Literacy with a book sale to benefit area schools and an author speaking. Regular general meetings will be held on October 5 and November 2 and our Christmas Party on December 7. Another road trip is scheduled October 19-21 to attend the TFRW Convention in Dallas, but no bus for this one!. Active members of LCARW who have been a member at least 6 months are encouraged to attend.

The nominating committee to select 2018 officers will be introduced at the August meeting and will be actively searching for new faces! With 2018 being an election year AND our club's 25th anniversary, it will be an interesting time and we'll need everyone to stay involved. Please consider taking on a committee leadership role (board position) or becoming an officer by letting me one of the nominating committee members know. Board meetings are very informative and fun and any member is invited to attend to learn more about the club. The next board meeting is August 17. See you soon!

New Officers and Committee Chairs list will be posted soon.  Until then, you can access a roster at
